Terms of Service
Effective July 14, 2026
These terms govern your use of Contractor Compliance Tracker (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
What the Service is
The Service lets you look up license, bond, workers' compensation, and RMO/RME status for California Class B licensed contractors, and optionally subscribe to email alerts about a specific license. The underlying data is sourced from the California Contractors State License Board's ("CSLB") public Data Portal.
The Service is informational only, not legal advice, and status shown may lag behind real-time changes at CSLB. Always confirm with CSLB's Instant License Check before relying on a license's status for any decision.
Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and using the Service for a legitimate business purpose. Signing in doesn't use a password — we email you a one-time link instead. You're responsible for keeping access to the email address on your account, since that's how you sign in.
Subscriptions and billing
- Ongoing email alerts are a paid subscription, currently $29/month.
- Payments are processed by Stripe; your subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel.
- You can cancel anytime from your account page — you'll keep access through the end of your current paid period.
- We don't offer refunds for partial months.
- We may change the price going forward; we won't change what you've already paid for.
Acceptable use
Don't scrape, bulk-extract, or resell data from the Service; don't attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to it; don't use it to violate any law, including in how you use information about the individuals (RMO/RME, personnel) it displays.
Intellectual property
The Service's software, design, and organization of data are ours. The underlying contractor license data itself is CSLB's public record — we don't claim ownership of it, and we can't alter it on anyone's behalf.
Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the data shown is complete, current, or accurate — see "What the Service is" above.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the Service for anyone who violates these terms. You can stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.
Changes to these terms
If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above.
